Graduates of MSc Medical Anatomy can pursue careers in both academic and non-academic sectors. They can teach anatomy to medical and paramedical students, identify body structures and living anatomy topography, analyze tissues microscopically, and understand karyotyping and congenital anomalies. Additionally, they can perform embalming, assist in postmortems, prepare histology slides, conduct anatomical research, pursue a PhD, and work as clinical anatomists in specialized hospitals.
Candidates must have a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination. Undergraduate degree from a recognized University with a minimum of 50% marks in any of the paramedical science courses from a recognized university or its equivalent: B.Sc Cardiovascular Technology (BCVT), B.Sc Dialysis Technology, B.Sc Medical Microbiology, B.Sc MLT, B.Sc Nursing, B.Sc Zoology, B.Sc Medical biochemistry, B.Sc Optometry, B.Sc Perfusion Technology, Bachelor of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology(BASLP), BOT, BMRT, BPT
The M.Sc. in Medical Anatomy, designed for students who wish to deepen their understanding of the human body, offers an in-depth study of anatomical structures and systems, integrating both theoretical knowledge and practical experience through dissection and laboratory work.
The School of Medical Education, a self financing college, previously run directly by Mahatma Gandhi University till 2016, came into existence in 1993 with an aim of providing trained human resources in the area of allied medical and health sciences. Now this institution is under the control of Centre for Professional and Advanced Studies (CPAS), a Society established by Government of Kerala.
This is the pioneer self financing institution in the state of Kerala offering a variety of allied medical and health science courses. This is the only institution, spread across four districts in Kerala, conducting more than ten paramedical and allied health science courses under a single organisation. The Under Graduate and Postgraduate academic programmes of the school are so designed as to prepare skilled professionals of high calibre. Academic training and practice are imparted in collaboration with the Government Medical Colleges and reputed public and private sector establishments across India.
